The Swan River Fleet of Western Australia was established in 1986 by Commodore Chris Hardy and the Honorable Syd Corser (OAM).

The Swan River Etchells Fleet has a proud history of "punching well above it's weight division" in terms of National and World Championship results over the years.  This in-turn has offered a fertile training platform for the State's best yachting talent to hone their technical and strategic skill base in an un-forgiving One-Design environment, a mantle the Swan River Fleet holds proudly and works hard to maintain.

There are now over 35 registered Etchells sailing in Western Australia, with the Swan River Fleet made up of Owners and Crew from Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club and Royal Perth Yacht Club, with regular windward-leeward and weekend-long regattas on the Swan River and the waters off Fremantle for competitors to take part in.

The Swan River Fleet will be hosting the 2020 World Championship in Fremantle, in November 2020. For more information, please click here.
